There has been quite some discussion about the special little tool on the AMS site... but as I cannot post any pictures on there...
I have decided to use this great forum to discuss this special tool for flanging....

what I would like to know is has anybody made one?

And if not how does the cam No.771 MOVE in its holder ???.

l believe No. 772 clamps the workpiece.

    any thoughts.

If we all work together on this we can redesign this and many more metal shaping tooling.

looking at the pictures item 772 clamps the work piece as the stroke goes down at the same time item 771 is pivoted on 772 with a helical return spring item 775. that way on the upward stroke the spring returns item 771 to it's 'home' state ready for the next downward stroke. it looks like item 771 rotates through some pins (item 778)

should be easy enough to make, some measurements of the tool would be needed, just to eliminate or reduce the trial and error period
        thanks neil

          here is what he wrote
I didn't get a pic but the jaw comes fully open, the flat comes down to hold the metal while that tooth creates the flange. The square shank is the moving part and the round is held in the lower tool post.

I believe Thymen Ford has one of the small Trumph flangers... I follow him on FB Pullmax Owners Group. He lives in Purmerend, Netherlands.

Cheers Team, Robert would it be possible to contact him I’m very intrigued how the tooth 771 moves nicely round in its Case without snagging obviously you would use Grease if it’s fiction designed ...

or would 771 move round and down With a top bearing held in the case....???.

or has 771 use a very strong pivot pin???.

Well done Dave, that’s the kiddy, now we need him to open it up.

I have access to CNC machines.... and God knows what else.....
