Like both of them..... open ended spanner is cool.....
l,ve gone a bit further making a female die made from a slither of Solid bar shaped and then make a solid brass drift cut to shape of the Bead end.

Mine isn't unique, rare or my own design but I'm happy to have it. Just got it this RW Pexto 0617 this morning. Like my lathe, it was another unexpected nearby opportunity. The 110v motor with 90degree gear reduction drive works great.




As soon as there's some spare time I'll make a new stand, add a foot pedal and then have to begin learning about my lathe by making some roller die sets.

It would be nice if it did.

I really wanted a cast iron bead roller and older cast iron lathe, just like I wanted a cast iron English Wheel. No reason other than because I like the old equipment so that's what I wanted. Just need to get that milling machine now.

Then I need to make them pay some bills. That's the ultimate goal.

Finally got my bead roller mounted on a spare Unisaw cabinet (more free covid stuff) a few days ago. the motor with gearbox that came with this bead roller is single speed single phase, but it is reversible. The seller gave me a foot pedal for it. I'll juggle the sprockets to slow it down a little more and looking into ways to allow it to freewheel so I can operate it by hand for better control if needed for some projects.



Slow progress, but progress is always good..
