I found the pinch weld has some spots of rust on it. I wasn't happy with this poor design so I cut them off and did a full corner weld. Came out a bit wavy, but, whatever, I won't be doing the show car with mirrors on the floor routine.

me too, i like the attention to detail but it's a car at the end of the day, and a car needs to be driven!

Couldn't agree more! Cars that never get driven are so pointless.

I had to get the cowl to fender location fixed up. The PO had brazing rod all over and it was rusty as well. I ended up cutting the fender flanges off that I had previously installed wrong also.

          Thanks Jaymce.

A couple more pics of the top of fender. I posted the wrong one earlier.
A pic of the passenger side fender new flange as well.

Top center of cowl need some heat and a wee bit of knocking around. A 1/4" thick flat bar worked perfectly.

I used a piece of paper for a pattern instead of playing with tape this time.
It worked quite well except that I didn't have my mock up straight that I pulled the pattern from.

Hinge pockets were needed so I made up hinge mock up from a pic online.

A little bit of clean up and then the next bit.
                        Tape does have it's place.
Excellent for transferring the size and location of the cut on the other side.

Reinforcing bits in 11 ga steel. There are 1/4" thick slabs welded on the rear surfaces where the hinges will bolt to.
