Hello from a very soggy Auckland New Zealand
Hello fellow panel bashing enthusiasts. Disclosure - I flog Life Insurance... When I'm not doing that, I'm next door in my shed trying to make bits of metal do what they often don't want to do. I'm a very lucky boy my wife tells me in that I have apparently one of every tool known to man. She knows nothing of course (but that can be between us...). I do have lots of gear, have built quite a bit in house (ex fitter turner) and have a couple of local mates who are Gods of metalshaping who inspire me to try stuff well outside of my comfort zone. Current projects are a 4 year build of a Group 5 BMW E21 race car from the mid 70's which will end up with just about an all alloy bodywork (as per my profile picture - a hell of a lot better looking than one of me). Also in the corner of the shed is a Bugatti Type 51 thing which I started years ago after somebody lent me Conway's book with some factory drawings from 1926. My skills and gear have moved on from when I started the Bug, but happily one of my God mates has a son who has gone to work for Tula Engineering in the UK. They are the foremost Bug specialists there, so I may be able to buy some proper bits to make it look right. Then of course there are the bloody motorcycles - which seem to be quietly breeding when nobody is looking. Possible delivery shortly of a crashed Ducati Monster to turn into a Norvin looking thing from the 60's. Hope to learn some more here and not end up talking like Con the Fruiterer
